The mixed lesson of honor
is not always doing
what is best
what is easiest
even what is right
A lession of greys in a world of greyer
Where there is no clarity of heart
When two speak of chasms between
And men's cries rise from prisons
Of their own devising
Honor to bind or free to break or mend
The path of honor winds
past conscience
beyond truth
into the very soul of each man
The same act that brings honor to one sheds dishonor upon his brother
The same sword that deals justice dispenses death with cold unfeeling steel
And only you can say in your heart as you look into it's glass
wether or not the face you see wears honor upon it's brow.
