Slayer weapons are still available, but can be generated with magical properties (unlike the system you're used to). So, you can get more bonuses on top of slayer weapons.
Although, I watched Adrick solo blood elementals with warrior special moves, paladin abilities, and without a slayer weapon. He was able to take them down fast.
Crushing blow and paralyzing blow are still in the game and are special moves. The beauty of having special moves is that you get the choice when to use them instead of being randomly fired (well, you still have to successfully hit, but your next successful connection uses the move).
